Woodhull Sexual Freedom Summit
Whew! The last few days have been absolutely amazing. I was in DC for the Woodhull Institute’s Sexual Freedom Summit. The goal of the conference was to affirm sexual freedom as a fundamental human right. Over the course of four days I participated in many different workshops, listened to so many inspiring, intelligent people, and frankly learned a lot and had my mind opened up to many things I hadn’t given too much thought to (if any) before.
It was an incredibly humbling experience, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with all of you. While some of the workshops I attended were around issues I’m familiar with, such as reproductive rights, I also learned a lot about sex worker rights and issues, the integration of sex and religion, various LGBTQ issues including fascinating stuff surrounding gender, sex education, and the intersectionality of all of these things and more.
Beginning tomorrow, I’m going to write posts specific to each workshop I attended. Check back every day or two if you’d like to keep up!
